Department of Homeland Security: Transportation Security Administration* The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Acquisition (OA) is responsible for acquisition planning, negotiation, award, and management of contracts as well as agreements. Contract management was initially provided by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation. In March of 2003, TSA became part of the Department of Homeland Security. Many DHS organizational elements brought an established acquisition workforce and associated planning capabilities to the table, as a new organization TSA did not. The TSA OA is responsible for the execution and administration of all acquisition vehicles on behalf of the agency.
* TSA’s OA awarded a BPA to the NetAmerica Team , for professional assistance in the area of acquisition and contracting consulting services. Services are performed in accordance with all TSA procurement/acquisition regulations, policies, and guidelines and in keeping with the best practices in federal procurement. TSA is a FAR-exempt agency, and, in accordance with its establishing legislation, uses the Federal Aviation Administration’s Acquisition Management System (AMS) framework to plan for, award, and manage its contracts.
